Cross-country NewsThe City College of San Francisco cross-country team participated in the Fresno Invite at Woodward Park on Sept. 12. The men’s team placed 18th out of 26 team in the competition with sophomore Fernando Diaz coming in as the top finisher for the Rams, finishing in 57 place with a time of 22:26 in the four-mile run.
Sophomore Danielle Juarez finished in the women’s 5K run in 91st place with a time of 21:42. Freshman Sara Emam-Ghiasi finished with in 144th place with a time of 24:53.
The next meet will be the Sept. 24 Lou Vasquez Invite at the Polo Fields in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The women’s 5K race starts at 3:30 p.m. and the men’s four mile race starts at 4:30 p.m.
Soccer News
Men’s soccer got its fourth victory of the season with a 3-1 victory against College of Marin Friday, Sept. 18 in San Rafael. Matthew Caniglia, Edwin Velazquez, and Alberto Yepez scored goals for the Rams and moved their record to 4-0-2. The Ram’s next game will be Sept. 25 when they travel to Saratoga to take on the West Valley Vikings. That game starts at 4 p.m.
Volleyball News
On Sept. 19 the women’s volleyball team travel up north to Oroville to take part in the Butte College tournament. The Rams played Butte in the first game, but lost 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20. In their second match against Feather River the Rams won the first match 25-19, but then dropped the next three matches 25-12, 25-13 and 25-19 for a loss.
